YOASOBI
PROFILE
YOASOBI is a Japanese pop duo known for turning “novels into music.” They debuted in November 2019 with their single, “Yoru ni Kakeru,” which has reached over one billion streams. In April 2023, they released their song “Idol,” the opening theme song to the TV anime series Oshi no Ko, staying at number one for 21 consecutive weeks on Japan Hot 100, a record chart for Billboard Japan, the longest for the chart. In addition, the group managed to grab the top position on Billboard’s Billboard Global Excl. US chart, becoming a hit that set records inside and outside Japan.

The duo embarked on a tour throughout Asia, aptly titled YOASOBI ASIA TOUR 2023-2024, from December 2023 to January 2024. Tickets sold out immediately at each location. In April, the duo performed at one of the world’s largest music festivals, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and solo concerts in Los Angeles and San Francisco, where tickets sold out in 30 minutes. The group is scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza in August, an international music festival that started in Chicago but also has performances in Europe, South America, and other places around the world; they’re also going to New York and Boston for solo concerts at later dates.

The duo will perform for the first time at Tokyo Dome this fall to celebrate their fifth anniversary in 2024 - proving they are a force in J-POP to be reckoned with as they continue to top records and perform at shows both in Japan and internationally.
COMMENT
< Composer Ayase >
For the longest time, when I was asked what anime titles I enjoyed, I would always respond with BAKEMONOGATARI – I have quite an emotional attachment to the MONOGATARI Series. I was thrilled to hear that we were chosen to write a song for the new series. We pour hearts and souls into this song, filled with love for the work and for the characters that appear. I hope everyone enjoys our new song.
